ABOUT US:   Farms Without Harm is a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based, non-profit network of concerned citizens, groups and small farmers that support safe, sustainable farming in Michigan. We formed in March 2005 as a way to educate the public about the negative impact of factory farms on our health, the environment, local economy and animal welfare. We do this through a variety of programs including: 1) speakers, panels, workshops, film screenings and other public events; 2) presentations to groups such as editorial boards, farmers and legislators; 3) distribution of educational materials at festivals, fairs and other public events; and 4) dialogue among FWH members and support of each other's events and issues.

FWH doesn't speak for any of its individual members on specific issues relating to industrial agriculture. It only seeks to educate the public about the broad range of issues surrounding factory farms so the consumer can make an informed decision in the marketplace and know where to get more information.

FWH member groups recognize there may be differences in how fellow members approach this complex and difficult issue. However, they all agree that industrial agriculture has a negative impact on the local economy and environment and on human and animal health and well being.  What brings FWH members together is the common belief that the only way to begin to change the current industrial food system is by educating the public about the true cost of the food we eat.
